“I, um-” Aster shot Kili a look. “I used to have a staff but I’m fine with throwing daggers…” He informed the other dwarf, already knowing that he wasn’t selling himself well.
Bilbo wandered over, curious as to how the conversation was going. “Why would he need to fight? Surely we aren’t taking him the whole way.” He said slowly, looking from Thorin to Gandalf and back again.
Kili kept standing with his brother, seeing the look of caution on his face before the watched their uncle continue to interrogate the man.
“Then how far are you to go with us, human?” Thorin demanded.

Legolas had a slight twitch to the corner of his mouth, at the dwarf’s comment. “Others?” his brow raised, “More dwarves?” Oh his father would not like the sound of dwarves in his forest.
“What? Got a problem with us just walking through?”
Natasha trailed after the dwarf obediently, “Trust me I am not an enemy of Durin but if you must insist. I’m just a traveling human looking for some sort of adventure. I found staying in one place means living a very dull life.”
She paused for a second, “I have been in combat which is why I stated earlier that I can defend myself.” They were walking side by side and she chanced a glance at him, “What sort of journey are you on?”
“To claim back our homeland,” Kili answered in a simplified way, a look of grave confidence etched on his face.

“I never give us away, shush you.” He reminded and pointed a finger at his younger brother. He went on about finding the older dwarf, and after a few minutes of convincing, he was able to procure things they need for dinner. “I have thyme, paprika, the usual pepper, and this one”—he held up a shaker of sorts—“mister Bombur said was for flavoring. It’s not salt, but supposed to be… good.”
“Throw them all in. If he gave them to us, it’s sure to taste good all together,” he claimed as he grabbed a considerable amount before throwing them into the stew that had some of the cut meat already stirring inside the pot.
